hey y'all! my name is Samantha, i'm 16 and i've been riding for 6 years. i have gone through 6-8 trainers and 6-7 disciplines..haha, so i've been around the block!! recently i have been riding Clinton Anderson/Pat Parelli. their methods work the best, in my opinion. i've been riding a long time and because i've had so many trainers, i have seen whats good and not. haha. well i'm not gonna preach about this. but if anyone has any questions about anything, i do have a lot of knowledge, so let me know.....alright, buy!!
well, i have just stumbled across this community quite unexpectantly looking for mutual friends, and it occurred to me that i have not yet joined enough horse communities *coughs* *looks at number of communities in user info* oh boy...
well, for the pruposes of protecting myself, my name is katho (no, not my entire, real name!)im 17 in 10days!!! and i live in Australia, for about 10 months of the year im in a little town called sawyers valley near perth, wa, and the other 2 months are spent on my family's cattle station (or 'ranch' as some would call it) about a 13 hr drive north from where i am now. i've grown up with horses and own one, a big bay sook named beau (new zealand thoroughbred) who i compete in dressage, and i part own an australian stock horse x standardbred called Rocky, who lives on the station being ridden by my aunty/cousin. we use him for pleasure riding in summer and mustering in spring. i have alot of stories to share, some of which end with me in hospital, and some that are nice, or some like todays episode where my horse broke my toe while i was braiding his mane! so hopefully between here and other communities, i'll make some sense and yeah...i was going somewhere with that, but i kind of got distracted by the sounds of horses on TV.
I finally found the man of my dreams! He's a five year old, rusty colored hair, deep brown eyes, and oh yeah, he's an Appendix Quarter horse ;) I've been looking for a horse for about 5 months now, and I've finally found my match. He passed his vet check (I was worried about this because there was a slight possibility he had a slightly clubbed foot) thank God, and now we are actually picking him up tomorrow. He's out of shape, but perfect for what Im going to be doing with him. He has to die for western pleasure gaits, and a level head (you can put a tarp over his head, and wave a flag all around his head without him flinching). So anyway, he doesnt have a name yet, but he's a grandson of Zippo Pine Bar ;) I'll update after we get him settled tomorrow. Ta'! (Oh and my icon is of him :> )
